Having benifited from being born and bred in the Valais in the heart of the 4 vallées in Nendaz, Richard Amacker born on the 19th of June 1988 jumped onto his bindings at the age of 2. He focussed on downhill racing for 16 years and participated within the FIS circuit during 5. A little tired of this discipline but also still extremely strong technically; Ritch launched his freeride career in 2008. He was awarded a magnificent 2nd place in his second participation of the Nendaz Freeride.
In 2012, he found his rung among the very best, in the Freeride World Tour.

Domaine : Snowboard
Meilleur résultat : SnowboardCross Junior World Champion, 2001
At the age of 3 and a half, she discovered the joys of skiing in Nendaz.
At 11, she tried and adopted the snowboard.
At 15, that is in 1998, she participated in her first snowboarding competitions.
From 2000 to 2004, She obtained numerous titles of which : SnowboardCross Junior World Champion and four-times Parallel Giant Slalom Swiss Champion.
From 2004 to 2007, several serious knee injuries kept her away from competing. 3 years where she had to understand the meaning of the words "courage", "will power" and "determination", making her come back even stronger than before.
In 2008, she started competing again on the Snowboard World Cup circuit.
Unfortunately, following a new knee injury at the beginning of the season 2009, she retired from professional snowboarding.

Domaine : Mountain running / Ski touring
Meilleur résultat : Medal winner at the European and World competitions in two different disciplines (mountain running and ski touring).
Only but a few Swiss have been among the best worldwide in two different sporting disciplines. He managed to succeed in a summer sport, mountain running, and in a winter sport, ski touring, where he progressively specialised in ‘Vertical’ races (steep uphill races).
At 11 already, he obtained his first national title in his age category in cross-country running. Several other races then followed this first title both cross-country and on track.
After a long pause in competition, he obtained between 2004 and 2010 several Swiss championship titles in ski touring and mountain running, as well as medals in the European and World Championships in both sports.
He retired from competition in 2010, but still trains daily. He isn’t against taking part now and again in future open races.

Domaine : Ski
Jean-Pierre Fournier was the Swiss Ski Team’s trainer for many years. 18 years with the women’s team and 5 years with the men’s.
He was born a skier but is also a mountain bike lover, which is not surprising when we know his professional activity (introduction of the mountain bike in Switzerland via the ski team in 1975, Peugeot bikes…)
From 1995 to 2003 he took over the direction of the ESS de Nendaz (Swiss Ski School). He then diverted into property where he became, with his wife, owner of the Interagence estate agents in Nendaz.
Jean-Pierre Fournier is also the president of the Tourist Information Office in Nendaz.

Domaine : WTCC
Yvan Muller, a resident of Nendaz, is one of the most talented racing car drivers of his generation.
Since 2010, Yvan Muller is the official pilot of the American brand CHEVROLET engaged in the WTCC, the world championships of touring car racing. He won the title of world champion driver on two occasions in 2010 and 2011 in a Cruze. Whereas at the same time CHEVROLET won both world championships in the constructors’ category! Yvan Muller was the first French driver to win the FIA WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) title, in a SEAT Leon TDI in 2008. During these three seasons with SEAT Competition, he won two titles of FIA WTCC world vice-champion in 2007 and 2009. He then also won two consecutive world titles with CHEVROLET in a Cruze in 2010 and 2011. On the ice, "king Yvan" holds the record of titles of the Andros Trophy with 10 consecutive victories in 11 participations !
