The cabin offers a small choice of simple food and soft drinks.
Comfort in the cabin
It consists of an altitude refuge situated at 2,500m. The cabin offers just one dormitory of 25 places. Duvets and pillows are available from July to September. The cabin is equally equipped with a shower and WCs (exterior) in summer.
A keeper is present at the cabin during July and August until 19th of September. During the month of September we leave it open, the gas cooker is usable and the running water functions for washing dishes. Wood is available for the stove.
On the last Saturday in September (in principle) the closing manoeuvres render the cabin in "winter mode" : the cabin is closed, only the entrance hall is accessible, with emergency telephone.
It is possible to stay at St-Laurent during the winter: wood is available for heating. On the other hand there is no water, which has either to be taken with one or melted from the snow. A request can be made by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org giving your telephone number for a return call.
What to do at St-Laurent?
The cabin is the ideal departure point for going as far as the Lac du Grand Désert, then continuing to the foot of the glacier. The path is easy and the round trip takes 2 to 3 hours. It is also possible to attain the Val de Bagnes, passing over the Col de Louvie, or the dam of the Grande Dixence by the Col de Prafleuri.
St-Laurent is the ideal goal for a day's hiking from the Cleuson dam or from Combatseline along the bisse de Chervé. We advise you to start off quite early and to extend your walk as far as the Lac du Grand Désert or to the glacier before returning to have a meal or refresh yourself at the cabin.
