A fun and educational activity for children, designed to teach them how to use an avalanche transceiver and avalanche rescue techniques, as they search for a chocolate Easter rabbit buried under the snow.

The "Save the Rabbit" event is a fun and educational activity for children aged 5 to 15. SThe aim of the course is to introduce participants to the use of avalanche transceivers in a safe and fun environment. Children will have to find a chocolate Easter Rabbit buried under the snow, using avalanche search and rescue techniques : use of an AVT (avalanche transceiver), a shovel and, if necessary, a probe.

The challenge is to save the rabbit in less than 15 minutes. Each child will go home with the rabbit they have found. The aim is to offer children an interesting and fun experience in the spirit of the NNCS association.

    Useful information

    - Bookings must be made at the latest the day before at 16:00 with Nendaz Tourisme
    - From 10:30, search sessions will start and continue every 15 minutes until 12:30 and from 13:30, search sessions will start and continue every 15 minutes until 15:30
    - At each session, up to 3 children will be supervised by a coach who will explain how to use the avalanche transceiver, shovel and, if necessary, the probe.

    HOW A SESSION RUNS

    - Introduction to the equipment: explanation of how to use the avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
    - Search and rescue: children put their new skills into practice to locate and extract their chocolate rabbit buried under the snow
    - Once the rabbit has been "rescued", each child goes home with his or her reward.
