After a brief introduction over a cup of coffee or tea, the day continues with an outing on foot, map in hand. The aim is to learn how to read a topographical map, identify useful features on the ground, estimate walking time and plan a simple, realistic route. It's a day open to all, to help participants learn the basics of orienteering and become more independent on future outings.
