The houses of this lowland village, located at 658 metres above sea level, are dotted along the banks of the River Rhone.
Bieudron is home to Switzerland's largest hydroelectric plant! As part of the Cleuson-Dixence development, it was built between 1993 and 1998 to increase the production capacity of the Grande Dixence facility. The energy produced by the Cleuson-Dixence development as a whole amounts to approximately 2 billion kWh per year, which corresponds to the average annual consumption of 400,000 households.
