International Alphorn Festival
Concerts & festivals
Every year, the International Alphorn Festival brings together around 100 alphorn players for its unique competition and its spellbinding ensemble pieces. It is also a fantastic opportunity for spectators to be plunged into a world of folklore and traditions.

| Saturday 25 july | 09:00 - 02:00 |
| Sunday 26 july | 08:30 - 15:30 |

More than just a gathering of Alphorn enthusiasts, the International Alphorn Festival is a major celebration of Swiss traditions. A host of folklore performances, with dancers, yodellers, bell ringers, whip crackers and flag wavers will punctuate the three days of festivities. The grand parade with floats and cattle and the arts and craft market with over 20 exhibitors are also very popular highlights of the festival.
AN OFFICIAL COMPETITION
The Alphorn players compete in an official blind competition: the jurors are inside a tent without knowing the identity of the players who perform, which guarantees their total impartiality. This competition attracts the best Alphorn players from all over Switzerland and abroad.
MOMENTS OUTSIDE OF TIME
For the public, the highlight of the International Alphorn Festival is undoubtedly the ensemble pieces performed. Originally used to communicate from one valley to another, the Alphorn resounds once again in the mountains, but at the power of 100 (the number of players who join together to offer us this moment of grace).
