The marathon departs from the heart of the resort of Verbier, in the Val de Bagnes. The finish line, after over 125 kilometres and more than 5'000 metres of variation in altitude, is in the pretty resort of Grimentz in the Val d'Anniviers. There are 4 departures to choose from, Verbier (125 kilometres), Nendaz (92 kilometres), Hérémence (68 kilometres) or Evolène (37 kilometres). All the routes pass by the climb of the Pas-de-Lona, a legendary mountain pass and a merciless obstacle.

To attend the departure of the participants from Nendaz, the meeting point is on the Plaine des Ecluses early in the morning . The leading competitors coming from Verbier usually pass through Nendaz a little later, for the faster ones. The incredible passage down the lower part of the Tracouet ski slope from Les Clèves and their spectacular descent of the gondola stairs are especially worth while watching !
