Bisse de Vex closed in summer 2026
News
The Bisse de Vex will remain closed this summer due to restoration works.
The Bisse de Vex suffered significant damage in 2025 following heavy snowfall in April and a debris flow in June. Several sections of the canal were destroyed and footbridges swept away, making it impossible to supply water and forcing the closure of the hiking trail.
Major restoration works, estimated at over 1.5 million francs, are underway and will span two to three years. In 2026, priority will be given to the rehabilitation of the Doussin torrent sector. If conditions allow, a partial reopening of the trail is planned between late 2026 and 2027, with water flow expected to be restored in spring 2028.
In the meantime, we strongly urge walkers to follow the safety instructions in place to avoid putting themselves at risk and to ensure that the works are not disrupted.
However, the section between Le Chity, Veysonnaz and Les Mayens de Sion remains accessible for walkers.
