Your hike begins in Siviez. Follow the path towards Tortin. The ascent takes place on a path that runs from time to time along the river Printse.

At the Tortin mountain pasture, continue along the dirt track to the Col des Gentianes cable car departure station. From here, follow the yellow signs for the Japanese Garden. From here it is about a 45 minute walk.

The Japanese Garden is a plateau with meandering streams running through it. It is so named because its beauty gives the impression that it has been landscaped by man. But it was not! It is 100% natural.

Hikers appreciate the peacefulness of the place. With its Zen-like appearance, the Japanese Garden radiates peace and serenity. Children find it an ideal place to play, skipping over the streams and climbing over the rocks.

Once you are rested and refreshed, head back to Siviez following the same route down as on the way up.

If you wish to shorten your walk, you can take the chairlift from Siviez to Tortin in summer (remember to check if the chairlift is open and to check the schedule before you leave)!
