The hike begins in Thyon 2000 at the arrival of the Veysonnaz gondola. The hike takes you along the ancient Bisse de Chervé, which is none other than the old alpine pasture road. It leads you to the restaurant Les Chottes, which was once a cowshed. During the summer season, you can probably spot the cows of the Combyre and Meina mountain pastures grazing peacefully.
In front of the restaurant, take the road and follow the signposts towards "Verrey / Veysonnaz". Don't miss the next crossroads which leads you through the heart of the Forêt Noire, along a steep footpath. In this wild area, you come across a large stone called "La Pierre à Djablech", the Devil's Stone, who is said to have left his mark there by using this rock to jump across the valley.
You then arrive on the forest road, which takes you as far as Verrey, zigzagging through the forest and sometimes offering a surprising window on the villages of Clèbes, Verrey and the mid-mountain pastures of Veysonnaz.
The hamlet of Verrey, with its wooden houses and barns, has maintained its old-fashioned charm. After crossing the village, follow the road for a few metres then take the footpath on the right. You join the Bisse de Vex for the final kilometre of this walk which brings you back to Veysonnaz.
